A visit to Sukorejo, East Java

January 11, 2010 by Rudy Setiawan · Leave a Comment

First of all, Happy New Year 2010 to you all :) Lots of success in this new year to you.

Two days right after the New Year 2010, I got a chance to visit my late grandma’s place to rest. I did not have a chance to say goodbye to her when she passed away last year, 2008. So on that day was her 1st death anniversary and I did what I had to do.. :)

Moving on, the day was bright and hot! I got sunburns on my bare arms, cheeks and the back of my neck. I got couple shots of little creatures around includes, grasshopper, blue dragonfly, red dragonfly and many butterflies. It was beautiful and I did never know that cemetery comes with all these beautiful natures.

Below are just some of the images that I took, please enjoy them:

Bali Trip Dec 2009 – Christmas Day

December 30, 2009 by Rudy Setiawan · Leave a Comment

Wooot! right on the day of Christmas, I flew to Bali with my family and my in-laws too. Couple places that visit to include the Kuta Beach (Pantai Segara) as well as Pecatu which the Balinese called it “Dreamland”. Pecatu was amazing :) clean water + 3 feet waves…nice! The only thing that is suck is how to get there. Apparently, Pecatu is still under construction and the tourists are allowed to go to the beach. Since I had to carry my camera + stroller + my baby, it was not a fun thing. I was frustrated + angry … but then when I reached the place…all I did was WOW look at that white sand and the clear water!! Those anger + frustration gone with the waves :D I am glad that this trip happened.

Below is some of the captures :) Please visit the place and I hope by the time you are there, the construction is done!

Golf Course Part 2

Ah finally got another chance to take a small walk into a golf course down by Edmond Community College.

Took quite a number of pictures and saw this twin trunk tree. :)

I always wanted to try to take a photo of a “smooth” running water fall. I guess fountain will work as well. hehehe. It was a 3 seconds and high aperture shot.

Richmond Beach July 2008

On July 19th of 2008, I had a chance to explore the low tide treasures and animal kingdoms :) Today was the lowest tide and the Seattle Aquarium Groups are out there on the popular beaches around Greater Seattle area.

One of them is the Richmond Beach, since it’s nearby my home, I decided to head there.

Seaweed Eel is the most popular thing with this beach. I saw them along the coast of the beach and underneath them hidden many sea lives and “treasures”.

Check out some of the photos below. :)

Lunar Eclipse 2008

The day has come for the 2008 Lunar Eclipse :) Astronomer said that the next Lunar Eclipse is going to be on 2010 :)

Ah lucky me got a chance to take some photos. They are ok but not that great. I have shutter speeds between 10 to 15 as well as Av between 8.0 and 10.0. It was fun and chilly since I was taking these photos just outside my balcony.

Steven’s Pass Trip

December 29, 2007 by Rudy Setiawan · Leave a Comment

Wah it’s been awhile I have not yet  updated my blog :)

Today, I went to Steven’s Pass to snowboard as well as experimenting with my new circular polarizer, B+W. Wow, the results are beautiful and I am loving it. The theme of the color was white and blue :)

Circular Polarizer did help a lot in brighten up the skies and it didn’t lose to the bright snow white land. I think the CP actually decreases the white color a little.

Brrr, today is coldd but clear sky.  Got my haircut and went to a golf course, Shrine. I decided to take a few photo shots in there :) . It has been hard to find a clear weather in Seattle, you know hehe. I have to try to shoot in the rain as well.

I still need to learn, all my shots are way off. Below is just some of them:
