Bali Trip Dec 2009 – Christmas Day
December 30, 2009 by Rudy Setiawan · 1 Comment
Wooot! right on the day of Christmas, I flew to Bali with my family and my in-laws too. Couple places that visit to include the Kuta Beach (Pantai Segara) as well as Pecatu which the Balinese called it “Dreamland”. Pecatu was amazing
clean water + 3 feet waves…nice! The only thing that is suck is how to get there. Apparently, Pecatu is still under construction and the tourists are allowed to go to the beach. Since I had to carry my camera + stroller + my baby, it was not a fun thing. I was frustrated + angry … but then when I reached the place…all I did was WOW look at that white sand and the clear water!! Those anger + frustration gone with the waves
I am glad that this trip happened.
Below is some of the captures
Please visit the place and I hope by the time you are there, the construction is done!

Richmond Beach July 2008

On July 19th of 2008, I had a chance to explore the low tide treasures and animal kingdoms
Today was the lowest tide and the Seattle Aquarium Groups are out there on the popular beaches around Greater Seattle area.
One of them is the Richmond Beach, since it’s nearby my home, I decided to head there.
Seaweed Eel is the most popular thing with this beach. I saw them along the coast of the beach and underneath them hidden many sea lives and “treasures”.
Check out some of the photos below.

Camp Arnold 2007, Eatonville, WA

I’m back!!
It’s been almost two weeks now that I haven’t had a chance to go outside to shoot.
So I just got back from a retreat in Camp Arnold, Eatonville, WA. a 3-day retreat and the first 2 days were amazing. The sky is clear, totally clear no clouds at all. Coldddd, brrrr, accompanied by a calming atmosphere.
On the first day, we reached there at about 5:30pm and it was already dark and I wouldnt want to try to take some shots (even though I did, it just turned out ugly
). So I took some photos of my friends (there were about 120 of them attending the Christian retreat). I set my iso to 400 that way I could just shot anytime. Then I decided that I should wake up early on the following day to explore the area.
I woke up at about 5:30am and started walking around. Oh wow it was very cold , I’m guessing maybe about 28 F to 30 F? I don’t know but it was freezing haha. Took some area photos, trees, mountain, lake and buildings. One thing I did realize on that morning is that everything is so beautifully untouched and made. It seems that it was just “built”. The frozen dews, the ice-layered lake, and the mist. They made the atmosphere so soft, beautiful, and peaceful. The lighting is perfect at around 6:30am. The sun was at the horizon and started to shine on the lake and the facing Mt. Rainier.
So everything went great in the retreat (amazing retreat, by the way, and great message by Reverend Irving) until I reached home and transferred all my photo into the computer and found out that all of my photos are in ISO 400
, you know i thought they wouldnt be worst but after looking into 1:1 ratio. noises are everywhere in every photos. hix hix.
I guess it’s ok right? hehe now I learned my lesson that I need to be prepared before a photo shooting
Below are some of the pictures that I took:
Photo at Queen Anne, Seattle

Ahh this was my very first photo shots when I got my first dSLR Canon Rebel XTi.
I was using the EFS 18-55mm lens (The standard lens the comes with the body). It worked great. I think I like the photos that I have taken for these.
I think it was around 9PM in the evening and the sky was very clear. I was at the sightseeing point in Queen Anne overlooking Downtown Seattle and Alki Beach. I took quite a number of photos and only two are made it to this post hehe.
